Potato Egg Salad Bread Roll

Recipe:
Bread Flour 240g
All Purpose 60g
Sugar 30g
Milk 200ml
Butter 30g
Salt 4g
Yeast 5g

1) Microwave milk and butter together on High for 30 seconds.
2) Select “Dough” cycle; Add all ingredients in the order your machine requires.
3) First Rise: After the machine is done kneading, roll the dough into a ball. Cover with a damp cloth, and let dough rise in a warm place for 45 minutes, or until doubled in volume.
4) Second Rise: Gently deflate dough with your fist, then divide dough into 6 ovals. Cover with damp cloth, and let dough sit for 15 minutes.
5) Top the dough with potato egg salad, cheese, and parsley. Beat egg, and lightly brush the egg onto the dough.
6) Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake for 15 minutes, or until tops are golden brown.

One of the largest earthquake hit Japan, and continues to be hit by multiple large aftershocks (as I am writing this post.) I went to Borders on saturday, and bought a lovely craft book called “Handmade Living” by Lotta Jansdotter. This hard-cover book is packed with her beautiful scandinavian lifestyle and inspiring ideas…and swedish recipes! I was in a baking mood today, and tried her “cinnamon roll recipe”.

I bought the wood plates from Muji. They were about $10 each and were perfect for picnics. The aeonium is from Home Depot in Manhattan, but I’m hoping to find more succulents in the neighborhood.
